Best times to Fish at Lake Mulwala

The best times to fish in Lake Mulwala for Murray Cod are almost all year round as the water level stays very consistent. Murray cod closed season is from 1st of September until the 1st of December, however this is a great time to target Golden perch. Summer is a great time of year to chase Cod, the water is warmer and the fish are most active however the early mornings and nights are most productive. Once it starts to cool down around winter it is the time to chase trophy Murray cod, the smaller fish become less active and it is a great time to brave the cold to catch that giant Murray cod.

Want to try fishing or take the kids out for an action packed day and get them into fishing and the outdoors. We can easily handle kids and make it safe and enjoyable for them. We can also teach you how to get set up and catch fish while camping on the Murray River easily with a few little tips.
We can take you on a quick tour from the water around the foreshores of Yarrawonga and Mulwala and even up to Bundalong. We can drop you off for a picnic on an island to enjoy the scenery and get away from the busy streets. We can organise a sunrise or sunset cruise on Lake Mulwala for 1-5 people.
We can also arrange local four wheel drive tours of the area with 20 years of local knowledge there is a multitude of interesting areas to see within an hour of Yarrawonga, such as the koalas at Ulupna island, historic trees and relics scattered through the bush, add to this an enjoyable lunch somewhere on the river to fill part of the day.
